Cambridge Study Tour - Places of Gathering
11-12 October 2019
Start: Friday 11am End: Saturday 4pm
The highlight of this study visit will be the new mosque designed by Julia Barfield (London Eye) who plans to join us. We will also visit the circular school she designed, reflecting the progressive teaching methods of the school. The tour includes other beautiful buildings in the area, among them the Fitzwilliam College Chapel conceptualised as an ark by Sir Richard MacCormack and the Centre for Mathematical Sciences of Stephen Hawking, by Cullinan Studio.
The programme will include conversations on spirit of place and building community, in relation to the projects we will have visited.
‘Architecture & Spirit’ at Rudolf Steiner House
30 April 2019
7.30 - 9pm
With Richard Coleman
In this talk, Richard will reflect on architecture from a non-religious standpoint and explain why Rudolf Steiner’s Anthroposophy has supported his understanding and experience of ‘spirit’ and its application in his collaborations with top architects on complex and sensitive designs in London, Dublin and Brighton.
For nearly 40 years Richard Coleman has lived with the imagination of a spiritual dimension to life through personal experience, family life, interaction with community and nature and through his profession, architecture.
All welcome! Price: £8 (£6 concessions)
